Tecnova Fundation and EBT Espacios y Paisajes, commercial mission in Silicon Valley

Technology Centre of Agriculture Auxiliary Industry (TECNOVA Fundation) and the technology based company (EBT), Espacios y Paisajes, both placed at PITA, have begun today a commercial mission in Silicon Valley that have been organised by FEDIT and ICEX. The objective of this action is for positioning in the American market in the sector of Clean Technologies.

New solutions to control Rhynchophorus Ferruqineus, red beetle plague

IFAPA chairman, Javier de las Nieves, has opened the technical conference hold at Almería Science and Technology Park (PITA) organized by the Technology Based Company Biointegra Medioambiental, Koppert and the Institute about “City Hall Management on palm trees threaten by red beetle plague”. De las Nieves has informed on the jobs carried out by the Institute to reduce treatment costs to fight this plague.

Future doctors from all Andalusia have visited the Scientific Site

The Scientific Site has received the visit of 20 PhD students from various universities of Andalusia. These future doctors are taking part at the 8th Edition of the Doctoral Conference of Andalusia, an annual innovative initiative fostered by the General Secretariat for Universities, Research and Technology of the Regional Minister of Economics, Innovation and Science.

Alfredo Sánchez presides over the UAL entrepreneurial initiatives awards

The General Manager of Almeria Science and Technology Park (PITA), Alfredo Sánchez, has presided over the 11th edition of Almería University entrepreneurial initiative awards, these are boosted and financed by the Board of Trustees and Recruitment Service of the University. The project Indalic has won the 1st prize with a reward of 6000 euros.

PITA brings about five companies of Almería to participate in the EBTs’ Consolidation Action Programme

Five Technology Based companies of Almería have been selected for the second phase of the EOI-APTE EBTs’ Consolidation Action Programme. This programme is being developed by EOI Foundation (Industrial Organization School belonging to the Industry, Tourism and Trade Ministry) in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Scientific and Technology Parks (APTE), that PITA belong to.

The Commercialisation Plan of PITA goes ahead

The Scientific and Technologic Park of Almería (PITA) Executive Committee has approved the Park Commercialisation Plan. The meeting has been chaired by Francisco Triguero, Secretary General for Universities, Research and Technology;  the plan full detail will be known by the coming month of September. Its aim is to recognize the critical variables for the new productive spaces offer that PITA represents and their commercialisation process kick-off in the south east area of Spain.

Iztok Lesjak, new President of IASP European Division

During the recent IASP World Conference in Korea an IASP European Division meeting was held. An important part of this meeting was holding a Presidential election as Sten Gunnar Johansson had come to the end of his presidential term. The vote was put to the members present and various proxies had also been received. Iztok Lesjak (Ljubljana Technology Park, Slovenia) was unanimously elected as the new President of the division, taking over from Sten Gunnar.

PITA chairman, Martín Soler, officially presented our park 2009 Annual Report. This publication explains last year most relevant activities and events, as well as technical; finance and entrepreneurial information related to the Almería technopolis. “The park has willing of self evaluation to measure our progress”, Soler said.

In the coming days it will be published Science and Innovation Ministry official call for this year finance grants under INNPLANTA name (former Acteparq) for Scientific and Technologic Parks’ entities already installed or in the process to be installed in them. Jose Luis Sánchez Teruel, general manager of Andalucía Emprende has visited PITA Scientific Site where the Business Development Support Centre (CADE) will count with a new office.
