Definition of a Technology Park

According to the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE), a Technology Park is a project, generally associated with a site, that:

  1. Maintains formal and operative relations with the universities, research centres and other institutions of higher education.
  2. Has been designed to encourage the creation and growth of companies based on the knowledge and other added value organisations in the services sector, normally situated inside the Park.
  3. Has a stable management structure that encourages technology transference as well as innovation between the companies and organisations using the Park.
